Ye Olde Gingerbread Village

I've never built a gingerbread house before, let alone a whole village. One family here makes it there tradition to build a village just before Christmas and each year has a theme. This year's theme was "Medieval Village." Each of us contributed and it was so fun. I made the little house with the lemon wedge above the door. I also made the front gate and the sign. What makes the village though is the Christmas tree. They cut circles out of graham crackers and layers them up, then coated it with green "cement." We even had a mini strand of fake lights to add. I think I want to make something like this next year too! Maybe just on a smaller scale.
