Fonthill Museum

This place is STUNNING, both inside and out. It's located just outside of downtown Doylestown, which is about an hour from Philly. If you are ever in the area or even if you have nothing to do in an afternoon - go here, but not with kids!

Dave and I went to walk around the grounds. Then we popped our heads inside and decided to do the tour. Wow, wow and wow!

This guy was a little weird, actually a lot weird, very smart, and a little cool. I forget his name, BUT he built the "house" with a castle in mind. You could easily get lost with all the different staircases, rooms, and doorways.

Our tour guide was awesome. It was just Dave and I so we could fire away with a ton of questions, which I did. The huge bummer is no indoor photography. The reason is because there are so many priceless artifacts at your fingertips and out in the open. In the past people have photographed rooms/items and have tried to break in later to steal them.

If you like art, this place is for you. If you don't and you like architecture, this place is for you too! That's one thing I LOVED about it. It was the perfect combination for Dave and I. We both got to enjoy aspects that we love and ignore the parts we don't care for as much.

Go. It's totally worth it!
