So on our wall between the kitchen and the dining room we have wall decals with three phrases/words.
1. Put others first
2. Honesty
3. Fun
These are our family values. I've posted about them before, but they are actually having an impact on our family.
Yesterday at my in-laws, Lilia and Grammy were playing tic tac toe. After a couple of rounds Grammy told Lilia to go first again. Lilia stopped and said, "No Grammy you go first because we have 'put others first' on our wall at home."
I was so thankful/happy/proud of her in one moment. Those few simple words on our wall have made an impact on her. They haven't even been up a year and already she uses them as a grid for what she says and does. (Our value of honesty comes up a lot more often.)
