Fun with Aunt Julie
In order to tire Lilia out for her nap we had her run up and down a grass hill. She loved it and I think it worked pretty well. She slept well for her nap!

US. Staff Conference 2009
Every other year all the Campus Crusade staff gather in Ft. Collins, CO. We meet for worship, to hear great speakers and for seminars. It's a time to recharge and refresh.
The 1st night opens up with a carnival. That's where all the pictures are from below.
We are about half way through and so far it's been great!
My daughter is so brave!
Lilia is so cool. (Forgive my bragging.) She looked over at the rock wall and wanted to climb it. It's for older kids, but that didn't stop her. I really didn't think she could because she's 2, but the guy said ok.
They harnessed her in, clipped her in and away she went! The holds were too far apart, but she had a great time! I couldn't believe how brave she was.

SHARK!
My parents took Lilia to the beach one morning and it was a fishing beach. There was a man who caught this shark. My mom said that Lilia wouldn't get out of her arms and was clinging so tight. She loved it though! However she wouldn't even put her toes in the ocean after seeing the shark. She talks about it a lot and loves the memory of the shark!

My Daughter the Thief
This morning we took a trip to the grocery store. Lilia loves going because she gets to ride in those ridiculous carts that have a yellow & red toy car attached to the front.
SIDE NOTE: Have you ever tried steering one of those? I bump into stuff all the time b/c the front end is so out there. I also drive a Honda Civic that has a pretty sweet turning radius.
Anyway, so we're checking out and then we pull away. I was pushing the cart in the parking lot and orange Mentos shot out from under the wheel. I thought, 'Oh, someone must have dropped the candy and I hit it with my cart.' I unload all the bags into the trunk and bent down to get Lilia out.
There she was eating a pack of Mentos. About 1/3 of it was gone. It was her Mentos that I ran over. I never would have guessed it was hers. So we had to go back into the store and apologize for stealing and pay for the candy.
I put them in my purse and finished them off later. After all, my daughter shouldn't have all that candy.

You just gotta laugh!
Yesterday morning was one of those times when your toddler is alone for a few minutes and it's quiet upstairs. Meanwhile, you're downstairs eating something because you're starving. You call for your toddler to come down. (Usually they come right down.) When there is no response, you know to run up the stairs because they are into some trouble!
So Dave goes up and I hear him say, "Oh No!" There was some laughter to his voice so I didn't jump out of my seat. I yelled up, "Is it bad?" He responded with, "You gotta see this."
Lilia had gotten a hold of a black sharpie and went to town...on her body. Please see the pictures below.
By the way, our initial response was sheer laughter, followed by, "Quick get the camera."

Poor Lily
My sister-in-law has a puggle (pug, beagle mix) and her name is Lily. (Lilia's name was picked out 1st.) We house sat for the weekend while my in-laws enjoyed a weekend away. Well Lilia LOVES dogs. With in the first ten minutes of being at their house she said, "Lily is my best friend."
All weekend long Lilia would not leave the dog alone. She would play with her, chase her and even reprimand her when she was doing something wrong, shouting, "Lily off." It was funny, the dog would listen to a 2 year old!
Well by the end of the weekend the dog was so sick of Lilia that when she got close, Lily would snap at my daughter. It was just a friendly warning of, "Back off." Lilia wouldn't get the hint though. She would throw her blanket on the dogs head and laugh hysterically while the dog sought to shake it off.
Just a warning...if we're coming to your house and you have a dog...you've been warned!
