Fun with Family in Colorado

On our first full day we spent the day up at Julie's house in Monument. Pete and Julie got a kitten, Blake named her Jeffery. She's an adorable, all black kitten, and she gives list of scratches. She's full of energy. The kids, especially Lilia, loved trying to wear Jeffery out.

Blake is only 2 1/2, but the way she talks, you think you're talking to a 4 year old. She cracked us up with her grown up phrases. She was bossing around Lilia and Alex, despite being the youngest by 4 years. Lilia would yell at her brother at different times. Blake picked that up from Lilia. We saw her standing with her hips on her hands yelling, "Alexander! Get down from there; it's not safe!"

Pete and Julie also have two dogs. Andy was a rescue dog they got from a shelter. She is very leary of children. Lilia used all of her "Cesar's Way" knowledge to try to befriend Andy. It worked slightly. It helped when adults Andy trusts were around, like Pete, pictured below.

Finley Harper was born February 28th. We finally got to meet her at 7 weeks old. Here is Marilyn with her youngest grand baby.

We got to spend a lot of time with Julie and the girls. I was so thankful to get to hold Finley, help put her to sleep in the carrier, and just spend time with everyone.

Blake is so fun and full of energy. It's funny how you can forget past stages of your children so quickly. I forgot how exhausting toddlers are. Blake never stops. She sure is a lot of fun though! Lilia and Alex loved getting to play tag with her or whatever other creative games they came up with.

Blake really loves Alex. He was a sweet helper feeding her dinner.

This is Finley's favorite way to fall asleep during the day.
